Vision: The vision for the practice model at Halcyon is simple. It revolves around healthcare the way it is supposed to be... a model based on the sacred and confidential relationship between you and your trusted healthcare provider.
Kim is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who returned to school for post-Masters training in mental health and the treatment of substance use disorders. Her goal is to provide holistic, comprehensive healthcare to the patients she serves. Kim establishes a personal relationship with the patients under her care, takes time to truly understand each patient's personal goals and challenges, and individualizes treatment plans unique to each patient under her care. She doesn't want to be just "a nurse practitioner" that you see for mental health or addiction - but YOUR nurse practitioner. A trusted part of the inner circle you rely on to help keep your body and mind healthy.
Mental Health: Kim is an experienced nurse practitioner, starting her advanced practice career back in 2015 - with a wide array of experience in primary care, pediatric/adolescent healthcare, emergency/episodic care, and mental health/addiction treatment. She limits the number of patients she accepts each day so that she can provide the type of individualized assessment and care that you need and deserve. Her patients have access to her by phone or through a HIPAA-compliant messaging service to address their needs quickly and effectively (no annoying answering services or paging systems). She takes the time to listen and understand her patients in order to appropriately diagnose and treat the problems and issues preventing them from living their best life!
Addiction Treatment: Struggling with a substance use disorder is challenging enough without the added barriers of strenuous "treatment program requirements," counseling obligations, and scheduling barriers. Kim works with each patient, as an individual, to better understand their unique situation and recommend evidence-based, practical, and effective treatment options that meet their needs. She values the feel of an old-time practice model where privacy, trust, cooperation, and mutual flexibility are paramount in helping patients to successfully reach their abstinence goals.
Episodic Care Visits: Strep throat? A Urinary Tract Infection? Sinusitis? No worries...
Kim does not conduct or perform lengthy primary care visits, but instead specializes in and focuses on "niche" practice areas (like mental health, addiction, and hormone therapy). This allows her the freedom to see and treat her OWN patients when minor life illnesses pop up...not refer them to the ER or Urgent Care for treatment.
